About PruneSocial

Dave Fradette, founder of PruneSocial

PruneSocial is a small, independent tool built and run by one person. That's me, Dave Fradette. PruneSocial is operated by PruneSocial LLC, a Maine limited liability company.

I'm based in Maine, and if you email hello@prunesocial.com, it comes straight to me.

Why PruneSocial exists

Some employers use screening companies to review candidates' public social media before they hire. Those companies publish a lot about how it works: the behavior categories they look for, and multi-year lookbacks, including social media lookbacks of up to seven years. (The sources are on the methodology page.)

What's missing is the other side. Candidates rarely get to see their own history the way a screener would before it matters. It's easy to forget what you liked in 2019, and scrolling back through years of posts by hand isn't realistic.

PruneSocial closes that gap. You download your own data, it's scored privately against those published categories, and you get a clear list of anything worth a second look, with one specific fix for each item. The goal isn't to scare anyone. It's to let you walk into a job search knowing what's there.

My background

I've spent about 20 years in regulatory compliance, most of it in environmental, health, and safety. The core of that work is reading written standards, permits, plans, and procedures closely, checking real-world evidence against them, and then establishing compliance or building corrective actions and programs that people can act on.

PruneSocial is built the same way. The categories come from what screening vendors publish, the rules for what does and doesn't get flagged are written down, and every flag comes with the evidence (the item itself), the reason, and a fix.

How I run it

What PruneSocial isn't

It isn't affiliated with any social media platform or screening company. It's designed and operated solely as a self-review tool, and it doesn't furnish reports to employers, recruiters, or screening companies. And it can't predict what any specific employer will decide. It's an honest, private first look at your own history.
